Data protection complaints
A clear route if you think RigWave has handled your personal data incorrectly.
Who handles your complaint
The controller is Gary Woodward, sole trader, trading as RigWave Streaming Systems. Trading, business correspondence and service address: 6 Adlington Drive, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 8BP, United Kingdom. The owner has expressly authorised publication of this address for RigWave customer and legal-compliance purposes.
How to make a complaint
Email info@rigwavesystems.co.uk and put Data Protection Complaint in the subject line. Tell us, in your own words, what happened, what personal data is involved and what outcome you are asking for. Do not send passwords, stream keys, access tokens or other secrets.
The privacy/data-rights mailbox has passed a pre-launch round-trip test: an external message reached the mailbox and a reply was delivered back to the external sender. Final launch checks still include domain email authentication and professional legal/privacy review.
What RigWave must do
For complaints received on or after 19 June 2026, UK data protection law requires controllers to help people make complaints, acknowledge receipt within 30 days, take appropriate steps to respond without undue delay and tell the complainant the outcome. Appropriate steps can include making enquiries and keeping the complainant informed about progress.
What we will record
RigWave intends to keep a minimal complaint record showing when the complaint arrived, when it was acknowledged, the investigation steps taken, progress updates where needed and when the outcome was sent. Records should avoid unnecessary sensitive information and should follow the final approved retention schedule.
Data rights are separate
If you want a copy of your data, a correction, deletion, restriction or another data-rights action, use the Data Rights route. A complaint can still be made about how a rights request was handled.
Independent complaint
You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. See the ICO’s public guidance at ico.org.uk.
Pre-launch legal status
The contact route has passed its basic inbound-and-reply round-trip test. This process still remains subject to final legal/privacy review, retention approval and domain email-authentication checks before public launch.
